Muskoka Sunset
This painting is the result of a call for artists to paint their impression or memory of something that would be reminiscent of the Canada, including the Canadian flag. I entered this painting of an island on a Muskoka lake. I spent my summer weeks as a child, going to various summer camps there and fell in love with the terrain and smells of evergreen forests. I chose to represent the flag as a carved image into an old dead cedar framing one of my favorite views. The sunsets and sunrises are never the same and bring me such peace. Oil on canvas 24 x 36
